SUSTAINABILITY
Our work is guided by RESPONSIBILITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
We want to offer our customers a joyful, long-lasting and responsible choice in clothing.
Papu clothes are based on clean-lined, versatile Finnish design combined with striking hand-painted prints and colours. We choose eco-friendly, high-quality materials for our products so that you can enjoy your Papu clothes for a long time and with a clear conscience. Quality is paramount to us, and you can see and feel it in every garment we make. Papu clothes are designed with love in Finland and made in carefully selected factories in Europe.

Finnish design
At Papu, we invest in design because we believe that a well-designed product stands the test of time and use. We want to create long-lasting, high-quality products that not only look great but also feel good to wear. Many of our products are adaptable and suit many different body types. In our design process, we aim to create products that inspire and bring joy to their wearers for a long time.
All Papu products are designed in Finland, where our designers and artists let their creativity flow freely. Our prints are often created the traditional way, painted with brushes on paper. This gives each of our products a one-of-a-kind look.

European production
Transparency and ethics in production are close to our hearts, which is why we make all our products close to home, in Europe.
European production means we can monitor every stage closely and make sure our products meet our high quality standards. European standards also guarantee safe working conditions and a living wage for workers. Producing close to home also means shorter transport distances and a smaller carbon footprint – this is how we take responsibility for our environment and our future.
We choose the best materials and work closely with our partners so that we can guarantee every product is high-quality and durable.

HIGH-QUALITY MATERIALS
Our goal is to continuously promote responsibility by finding ever higher-quality and more sustainable materials. Most of the materials we use are responsibly produced options that we choose carefully to ensure functionality and quality.
Our products use materials such as GOTS-certified organic cotton, recycled cotton, linen, lyocell, Ecovero and high-quality wools such as mulesing-free merino wool and cashmere.
By choosing eco-friendly, high-quality materials, we make sure that every garment not only meets our highest quality standards but also supports sustainable development.

RESPONSIBLE JEWELLERY COLLECTION
The unique Papu jewellery pieces are among the first in the world to be made from Sulapac's eco-friendly bio-material.
The material is biodegradable, which means that microbes in the soil can break it down in nature, and it leaves no microplastics behind. The metal parts of the jewellery are partly made from recycled silver sourced from Poland and elsewhere in Europe.
The jewellery is assembled by hand in Finland, and the sterling silver parts are made in Poland. Local production supports the local economy, creates jobs in Finland and reduces the need for transport and therefore emissions.

WE ARE PART OF the Carbon-neutral Textile Industry 2035 commitment
Papu Design is part of the Finnish Textile & Fashion association's Carbon-neutral Textile Industry 2035 commitment. What all the companies that have joined the commitment have in common is the desire to work actively for a cleaner future.
